Judging of the entries will be completed prior to the start of Railroad Days 

and winners announced on Saturday, March 24th, in the afternoon during the festivities.

2012 RAILROAD DAYS FESTIVAL
PHOTO CONTEST RULES
1. The competition is open to amateur photographers only.
2. Entries may be color or black and white photos printed on matte or glossy photographic paper and must be mounted on standard 8.5 x 11 backing, and unframed. Eligible photos must have been shot on or after April 1st, 2011. You must be the sole owner of all photos submitted. Images must NOT have been digitally altered in any way other than necessary basic sharpening and cropping.
4. Entry fee is $10 per person; students 18 years and younger $5. Make checks payable to the West Nassau Historical Society. Up to 6 photos may be entered per person. Entry forms are available at the Nassau County Record in Callahan and the Greater Nassau County Chamber of Commerce office inside the Callahan depot during normal business hours. Please include the following details on the back of each entry: your name, address, and phone number, and where and when the photo was taken. No submitter’s name, logos, or writings can be seen on the front of the photo. By submitting the photos, you are agreeing that your photos may be reprinted in the local media or any other publication without prior notification. All first place winning entries will be published in the Nassau County Record after Railroad Days. Any reproduction of entries will receive proper photographer credit. All proceeds will go to the West Nassau Historical Society.
5. Entries’ subject matter MUST BE located in Nassau County, Florida, and be related to one of three categories: A) Architecture of historical interest; B) Trains and the railroading industry; and C) Nassau’s natural beauty and landscape.* Each photo entry will be placed in one of the three above mentioned categories and judged accordingly. Photos of identifiable individuals or groups as the subject matter whether they are known or unknown to you WILL NOT be allowed. The West Nassau Historical Society has the final say on the eligibility of all entries.
*Each category must have enough qualifying entries to be judged or it will be merged with another category without notice and judged within the newly merged category.
6. Entries must be received by 5:00 PM, Friday, March 16th, 2012, at the Callahan office of the Nassau County Record, 617317 Brandies Avenue, Callahan, FL. Entries can be mailed to the Nassau County Record at P.O. Box 609, Callahan, FL 32011, but must be received by the NCR by Saturday, March 17th, 2012. All qualifying entries will be on display inside the Callahan depot during the 7th annual Railroad Days Festival on March 23rd and 24th. First and second place awards will be chosen in each category. First place winners will receive $50. Second place winners will receive a railroad print or railroad cap and one depot pin. All winning entries and any honorable mentions will be announced on Saturday, March 24th, during the festivities. All submissions will be available for pick up by the submitter after the Festival between March 30th and April 30th at the Nassau County Record’s Callahan office during business hours.
7. Judges appointed by the Nassau County Record will choose the winners. The judges' decision on all matters relating to the competition is final and no correspondence will be entered into concerning the competition's judging.

In an event such as severe weather or disaster where the Society is unable to display the entries on the dates mentioned on the front of this form, the Society will choose another date on which to display the entries.
